Vi annuncio in anteprima il prossimo rilascio da parte di nois3lab di inkscape gallery. Per ora trovate una splash di presentazione all'indirizzo http://www.inkscapegallery.net.
Si tratta di un sito di self publishing, alla youtube o flickr, realizzato da nois3lab per la comunità di utenti di inkscape, il principale software per la grafica vettoriale disponibile nel mondo open-source.
Inkscape è software libero ma è disponibile anche per piattaforme proprietarie come Windows e Mac. Si tratta del software con cui viene realizzato il 90% della grafica del bao;bar che., come ormai saprete utilizza esclusivamente software libero, all'interno del locale così come per la sua comunicazione e la sua identità grafica.
Questo sito ha tutte le funzionalità piu avanzate di un sito interamente dinamico, abbiamo utilizzato il cms open-source drupal, in questo caso crediamo al massimo delle sue attuali potenzialità. Potrete pubblicare le vostre immagini create con inkscape sul sito, vedere le gallerie in tante diverse modalità, conoscere gli altri artisti, partecipare ai forum, votare le immagini presenti, lasciare i vostri commenti e molto di piu.
il sito è bilingue, in italiano ed in inglese e vuole essere il punto di incontro delle comunità di utenti di inkscape di tutto il mondo come pure dare una presentazione adeguata, d'eccellenza a questo software ad al software libero in generale. Troppa è ormai la letteratura sul software libero al confronto degli esempi concreti di software di altissima qualità rilasciati sotto licenze open-source.
Speriamo che anche inkscape gallery convinca molti delle straordinarie potenzialità del software libero oltre che della sua superiorità in termini di sviluppocomunitario e d conoscenza condivisa, libera ed a disposizione di tutti. Inkscape gallery è una realizzazione di nois3lab ma viene rilasciato sotto creative commons by-sa per quanto riguarda la sua grafica (che non è poca cosa...) e sotto GPL per quanto riguarda drupal e la sua configurazione.
Voi potrete decidere, invece la licenza sotto cui rilasciare le vostre creazioni, perchè anche se speriamo che molti facciano la nostra scelta, il mondo open è un mondo libero e voi siete liberi anche di scegliere licenze che non consentano la modifica o la distribuzione di un vostro disegno.
il rilascio del sito è atteso per fine gennaio dopo un breve ma intenso periodo di debug che coinvolgerà in prima istanza alcuni disegnatori selezionati all'interno della comunità di utilizzatori di inkscape.
